I started the "Atmospheric Hyrule"-Series to show various apects of Hyrule's landscape, namely in the games Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.
The idea is simple. I play the games and when I get to see a beautiful mood or a special angle in a special place, I pause the game, get my camera and take a quick photo of the screen to cath the
moment.
These photos are usually crappy as the moments pass by very fast and you know the deal between cameras and old TVs. But they don't need to be perfect as they are just the memo and reference for
later painting this scene digitally.

So it's been 12 years [as of 2010]. More than a decade.
But it's been 10 years since I set foot into Kakariko for the first time. Since then the village had a very big meaning in my life. It was a kind of symbol for peace.
Also the theme music burnt itself in my heart like just a few pieces of music did back then. I was 10 years old. Just entered Music Junior High. Managed to get thrown into the worst class ever -
with a task. Saving the innocent and giving them hope. Yeah - sounds almost like I've been a little female Link then? Probably. Back then I didn't know. I just did what felt right, though it
nearly killed me inside. I helped people who weren't accepted by these other jerks in the class. Helped them to stand true to themselves, though I couldn't as I was punished for being myself
either. And there was this melody. It gave me hope. Ever since. It makes nightmares end.
I really liked to be in Kakariko. Especially at dawn when the birds sang or at dusk. 10 years ago. This was the time when my mother had to accept that I've got more from my father than she liked.
She didn't accept yet. But who cares. I'm a proud gamer-girl and even prouder LoZ-Fan. And Kakariko in OoT is the first fictional place I could call something like my home.

Well - I can say, it's pretty good for an hour if I think that Kakariko took me 3.
Oh yes - I do love Hyrule when the sun sets. Unfortunately it's going so fast then.

Maybe you've been, like me, nosy enough to explore areas when you're actually supposed to make progress in the game. XD I was so fascinated by the weird shape of that mountain top rock that I had to paint it. Preferably trying to reproduce the beautiful sunset - twilight - that you can witness up there. At first I thought I should give it a little more red/orange, but I liked the pale, wintery look so that I didn't add more colour.

Silver rays fall upon the glistening stream
Gentle yet merciless it cuts the land
Winter has arrived at last with frozen blankets
As piercing the water to bone and flesh..
..as piercing as their eyes once were
Brighter than those silent silver rays
As merciless as the icy rapids of the falls
And still time won, as it always will
Constant its flow
Like the merciless river
This started as a sole landscape painting, inspired by a brief glimpse I got on the background scenery in one of the worlds in Mario Odyssey. O_o
I guess I shouldn't have listened to the Breath of the Wild trailer theme all throughout painting..
